Canary bv is a young, dynamic and fast growing company whose mission is to improve organisations’ operational and sustainable performance through real-time data.

Our in-house developed, innovative and flexible software is perfect for high-volume and real-time data gathering, monitoring and analysis, alerting, automation and reporting. The platform provides businesses with the necessary insights required to make measurable progress, assess their impacts and reach their goals.

We started singing as we hatched out in 2019. Now we are looking to fully spread our wings and fly off. The sky is not the limit for our bright little bird.

The role as Business Development Manager

Your role will be to extend our network of partners who will implement the Canary solution with their end customers.

Possible partners are consultants and contractors active in:

  • - Energy management
  • - Facility management
  • - Property development and management
  • - (Building) automation
  • - ….

Your enthusiasm and ability to network with stakeholder(s) will bring you leads and you will convert them into partners or resellers. Your result is measured by monthly recurring revenues.

responsibilities What will your responsibilities be?

  • Engage with target clients on key sustainability initiatives and develop commercial projects.
  • Monitor partner sales and sales pipeline growth
  • Prepare and deploy a Sales action plan towards valuable partnerships
  • Develop and maintain sustainability knowledge and develop a network within the eco-system.
  • Provide insights to the Canary team on status and progress of potential business & partnership opportunities in the market.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the Canary Solutions with relevant market info and best practices by eg. management of Client User Group workshops.
  • Acting as a company representative, both as a speaker and as a participant at industry events, conferences, seminars and webinars.
  • Contribute to the planning, prioritisation and execution of the annual sales and marketing planning.
  • You will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer

Must have:

  • A broad network or eager to build one in facility and energy management, property management, CSR, retail,…
  • Passionate about the innovative & evolving Sustainability eco-system in Europe and overseas (knowledge of ESG certifications are an advantage).
  • Basic knowledge of Building Automation
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in Sales of Building Management Systems, ICT Services /Management Consulting Services.
  • Native NL or FR speaker and fluent English.
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Consultative selling approach – ‘solution seller’

Nice to have:

  • Willing to work in BENELUX – start up activities with multinational branches / reseller network
  • Analytical and out-of-the-box thinker
